Does Enterprise have a lost and found?
Yes, Enterprise Rent-A-Car has a lost and found department at most of its locations. Call your closest airport to find a local Enterprise Lost and Found if you live in a smaller city.
Alternatively, you can find a location through their Lost Returns website. The website lists states alphabetically, with a linked city if there is a local Enterprise Lost and Found. If you don’t see your city on the list, you can contact Enterprise Lost and Found at your closest airport.
Enterprise will send lost items to their lost and found and the nearest airport. For example, suppose you live in Georgia. In that case, there are only two Enterprise Lost and Found locations: the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
If you aren’t sure where your item is, visit Enterprise Customer Support to report your lost item.
Choose “Lost Item” from the “Topic” pull down menu, then enter a rental location. Next, describe the item and your rental car — including the dates you traveled — in the “Comments” section.
The form will then prompt you to enter your contact information. An Enterprise agent will be in touch and supply you with a lost item report reference number. Use this number to check the status of your lost items.
Does Enterprise keep lost items?
Yes, Enterprise Lost and Found will hold items for 30 days or more, especially once items get claimed.
What is the Enterprise Lost and Found phone number?

What happens if I lose my Enterprise rental keys?
If you lose your rental car keys or get locked out of your vehicle, contact Enterprise roadside assistance immediately at 1-800-307-6666 and wait with the car until the tow truck arrives. If you didn’t purchase extra insurance at the counter, you might be responsible for the towing and replacement key costs.
Depending on the vehicle you rented, Enterprise lost keys fees are between $20-$350.
Remember, you can ask the rental agent for a spare set of keys when you pick up the vehicle. You will likely pay a refundable deposit upfront, but you won’t have to worry about paying any additional costs for lost rental keys.
Does rental car insurance cover lost items?
No, your homeowners or renters insurance policy covers personal items. Auto insurance policies never cover items in a vehicle, regardless of whether or not it’s a rental.
If you don’t want to file a claim with your insurance company, you must buy Personal Effects Coverage at the rental counter to cover items left behind in a rental car. It can add another $5-$11 per day to your rental costs and extend to items lost, damaged, or stolen inside the rental car.
Before buying car insurance from the rental counter, ensure your home or renters insurance doesn’t already cover your items. The credit card you use to rent the car may also provide additional coverage.
However, if you’re traveling with valuable items or renting a luxury vehicle, you may want the extra coverage. Your policies only cover your items or a cost-equivalent, and additional rental car insurance can ensure you aren’t paying out of pocket in case of an accident.
Will rental car insurance cover vehicle theft?
Rental car insurance will not cover vehicle theft unless you purchase additional theft protection. If you already carry full or comprehensive car insurance, rental car theft is likely covered. However, you are not covered if you only have basic liability insurance.
Call the rental company, explain what happened, and request the vehicle’s tag and VIN if your rental car gets stolen. Then, contact the police department — you will need the VIN and license plate number when reporting the vehicle as stolen.
Enterprise Lost and Found: What You Need to Know
Enterprise Rent-A-Car will send items customers leave behind to the nearest lost and found location in that city or neighboring cities. Most Enterprise Lost and Founds will be at your closest airport.
Call Enterprise Lost and Found at 1-855-266-9565 or visit the Enterprise Lost Returns website to report a lost item.
However, if you lose your Enterprise rental keys, you must call Enterprise roadside assistance at 1-800-307-6666 and request a tow truck. Customers are responsible for paying Enterprise lost keys fees, but there is no cost to report or hold a lost item with Enterprise Lost and Found.
Unfortunately, rental car insurance does not cover lost items unless you bought additional Personal Effects Coverage. However, if you cannot recover your lost items or they get stolen from the vehicle, you may be able to file a claim with your home or renters insurance policy.
Before you buy insurance from the rental counter, ensure your current personal car insurance policies don’t already cover you. Many car insurance companies extend coverage to rental vehicles with a comprehensive policy at no extra charge. If you need this kind of coverage, compare car insurance companies near you to find the one with the best rates.
